About Your Hosts At Camping Chez Rambaud

Nicki and Neil said farewell to the UK in September 2004, in search of a new way of life in France that would reflect more authentically their own personalities and interests. Previously Nicki had been a dental practice manager and Neil owned his own highly successful fencing business.

This enthusiastic, hardworking couple had a dream of owning and creating a campsite. After a year of living and travelling in a caravan searching for their elusive dream, they came across, by chance, Chez Rambaud. It was love at first sight; no matter that the campsite was no more than a cow meadow; they could build their dream!

With much determination they fought their way through the red tape and bureaucracy to move in, in October 2005. A daunting task lay ahead of them; no access to the proposed site, no facilities, electric, water, the list was endless. Winter lay ahead and there was much building work to be done. However, not being ones to be defeated by anything, with herculean effort by themselves, the campsite was open to the first campers on May 1st 2006.

They have steadily and imaginatively added to their first basic plan of establishing a home and business, which together would form a cohesive little "pocket sized" eco system. Nicki and Neil continuously meditate on how they can make modifications or additions that will improve the visitor’s experience of their stay. The calm, serene beauty of Chez Rambaud and the enduring and pleasurable memories taken away by those who stay there, testify to this.
